Personal Project
Brain Cooler
Problem
The tools that were supposed to make us more creative are burning us out.
Microsoft Research and Carnegie Mellon followed 319 knowledge workers: the more confidently we hand our thinking to generative AI, the less we exercise it. At MIT, writers working with ChatGPT showed the weakest brain connectivity of every group tested, a slide the researchers called cognitive debt.
Harvard Business Review gave the feeling its name: brain fry. And a fried brain loses the very mechanism it needs to recover.
Not all screen time
is wasted time.
Solution
Using AI to protect us from AI.
Brain Cooler turns the tool on the ailment: the same AI that frays our focus is put to work building the cure. A corpus of science, read by machine and distilled into micro-doses of calm, two to five minutes each, one proven mechanism at a time. Every experience speaks its own visual language, because the antidote to the feed should never feel like a feed.
The experiences
when you make it yourself.
Find the perfect Om, and the light finds you.
to heal and rise.
Watch the sun come up over your own sky.
what touch tells it.
Delight your senses with a gentle touch.
The method
Science-baked, hand-crafted, AI-built.
A corpus of 29 peer-reviewed papers, read with AI, hunting for mechanisms that measurably calm a stressed mind. The findings multiply like cells.
Every finding becomes a brief: one gesture, a few minutes, real citations. Many candidates distilled down to a single living organism.
Reaction-diffusion, computed skies, soft-body physics, synthesized sound. Each experience is its own experiment in craft and code, forever changing its colours.
